Anticipated Draw-Fiasco Fails To Materialise
Tens of inquisitive inebriates crammed into the Gardeners Arms public house in Woolton on Saturday evening to witness the draw for the 2011 Sealand Cup.
A trial run, attempted by a few well-oiled chaps at last orders the previous evening, had somehow managed to place Convo into a group with the 48th Southport
Air Scouts, the Lee Park Long John Silver Society, McFly and a Reincarnation of John Le Mesurier Select XI. But practice makes perfect and the real thing passed off without fault.
The teams in Group A were drawn by Mr. Paul Dickson Esq. of Convocation Football Club, and those in Group B were picked out by a gentleman from Halkyn Football
Club, whose name may or may not have been Martin. Before the draw, the order of the fixtures had finally been determined by a Toby jug on the window sill
after large doses of a ketamine/mescaline cocktail had been sampled by the organising committee.
